Christopher Boyd – Founder
In 2009 Chris Boyd founded C J Boyd Solicitors, setting its focus on property law, small business and personal legal advice. With over 30 years in the law, he developed a wide range of business and professional contacts and an expertise in commercial and residential property matters.
In his decade with the firm Chris built our reputation representing long-standing clients in the purchase and sale of residential and commercial property, off-the-plan purchases, leases for residential, commercial and retail premises, small business transactions, franchise agreements, estate planning and contractual matters.
C J Boyd Solicitors has continued Chris’ legacy of strong client relationships, a pragmatic approach, commercial acumen and technical skill.
Soiam Raja – Principal
Graduating with a Bachelor of Media and a Bachelor of Laws in 2011, Soiam is well versed in property law and dispute resolution.
Since joining C J Boyd Solicitors, she has been the key liaison with our major client and residential land developer, Johnson Property Group. Soiam is responsible for property transactions including, but not limited to, advising on planning and Local Government issues, easements and restrictions on the use of land, as well as covenants and planning agreements. She provides legal advice on complex sale and purchase transactions, commercial and retail leases, including tax implications and commercial obligations with counter-parties.
Soiam also handles employment law disputes including employee/contractor relationships, redundancies, statutory entitlement claims and employment contract reviews. Soiam has a keen interest in assisting clients with issues relating to any employment rights and responsibilities as an employer or employee.
Soiam is bilingual in English and Hindi. She is a motivated lawyer who takes pride in being able to offer high-quality advice in a timely manner and enjoys the challenge of working with clients to resolve their, often complex, legal issues.
Soiam became a Partner of C J Boyd Solicitors in 2017.
Raphaela Leupuscek – Associate
Raphaela graduated with a Bachelor of Law (with Hons) Degree from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2013. During her time at Sheffield University, Raphaela was a volunteer and provided Pro Bono work at the legal clinic run by the university. Raphaela completed her Masters of Law degree at Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom in 2014 where she specialised in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution. She was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW in 2016.
Raphaela also co-authored the article titled ‘Renewables, Preferential Trade Agreements and EU Energy Security‘, which was published in August 2015 (Laws, Vol.4, 2015 Open Access ISSN).
Raphaela works with our clients on litigation matters, civil and commercial disputes, sale and purchase of business, property law, intellectual property, disputes involving estates including Family Provision Act claims. She has appeared in matters in the Supreme Court of NSW and the District Court of NSW. She has experience in negotiation and mediation.
Raphaela is bilingual in English and Bulgarian. She has a strong background in research, problem solving and providing legal solutions. She is a motivated and hardworking individual who always endeavours to find a solution to all questions and issues that may arise.
Angela Boyd – Special Counsel
Specialist Wills and Estates Lawyer
Angela graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1982 in Arts Law. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1983 and has been practicing ever since. Angela ran her own practice and has worked at Edney Ryan Legal Firm specialising in Wills and Estates.
Angela has a specialised diploma in Wills and Estates from the College of Law.
Angela has a strong work ethic and is an excellent communicator.
Margaret Wallace – Consultant
Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Finance and Systems) and Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales, Margaret joined the practice in 2013. She is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
For many years Margaret worked within the property division of the boutique investment consultant, Grant Samuel & Associates.
